TMB Day 2: Snowy Passes Lead to Sunshine and Huckleberries

September 2nd, 2012
After leaving Bonatti we passed by decaying cabins sitting on the edge of a large canyon with towering mountains wavering confidently in the early morning sun. Stunning views on near perfect single track winding our way up to the Elena hut where we stopped for a smiling cappuccino and sub par sandwich. My limits on gluten went out the window on this trip. Outside and in love on our honeymoon. It just doesn't get any better then this.
We ascended into Switzerland at the Grand Col Ferret where we took in a quick view and a fast snap of the camera before the white clouds consumed our highest point of the trip. As we left the snow in Italy, the sunshine greeted us in Switzerland.
Along the way we relaxed and ate with the sunshine on our shoulders, the rolling hills as our seat and the presence of mountains as our backdrop. Discovery of huckleberries equals a kid in a candy store. Yummy! Swiss chocolate, cheese farm and cows round out the day before making our way into the quaint village of La Fouly.
We stayed at a hotel called Auberge des Glacier with shared rooms and a set dinner and breakfast. One of my favorite places. Sunshine on the patio with a beer followed by a scrumptious raclette dinner.
